Since this is the first one ever for Northern League I was just curious how many teams need to sign up to even have a summer league? I havent heard too much buzz on how many teams have signed up so far. Deadline is May18th. VFW in champlain is also looking to get a team out of there if anyone is interested. I hope we get enough teams cause I’d really love to play some more.

Shane,
Here is what I was trying to say yesterday about the playoff final standings. I know you have used the tried and true method, but I believe you could also make the case that our team, the Bombers could be equally deserving of 2nd place in the playoffs, after finishing 4th in the league.

The order of finish for the year was #1 Green Room, #2 Barnabys, #3 Dry Dock, #4 Bombers. In the playoffs both the #3 team and the #4 team beat the #2 team and lost to the #1 team. The difference is that in the third match, which was the first round, the #4 team beat the #5 team, while the #3 team only beat a #6 team. The Bombers therefore had a slightly better record for the three weeks of the playoffs.

The Breast Friends Relay for Life team will be holding their 2nd Annual Dart Tournament on Saturday June 2, 2012 at the Green Room to benefit our Relay for life team. We have the proud honor of earning the most money ever collected by a Relay team last year ($10,000) and the dart tourney was our best fundraiser ($1400)!! Help us surpass that amount this year!!

The tournament sign ups will be from 12-1p with a start of approximately 130p. Cost of Tournament is $10 a person and will be a luck of the draw format. Half of the money collected from the dart tourney will go to the relay for life team and the other half will be paid out to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. There will also be trophies for 1st-3rd.

In addition to the dart tourney, there will be drink specials, a Chinese Auction, members of the relay team will be guest bartending, we will be selling food (hot dogs, michigans and nachos) and there will be various 50/50’s throughout the day. All proceeds from these events will go to benefit the Breast Friends Relay for Life team.

Come out and join us for the fun…anyone who played last year can tell you what a blast we had!! It is for a great cause and I am sure we have all had a family member or friend who has been diagnosed, died or survived this horrible disease!!

For questions, please contact Val via the dart group or my cell 335-3658!

Val

PS Shane we are going to need 5-6 additional boards for that day and can you please post this in the events calendar…thanks

I took the time to pre-register all my events for NNY. During that time did NO employee ever say to me u risk forfeiting a match if two of your games run at the same time.

Lots of people were running the charts so I don’t want to blame it on anyone specific there and that’s not really the issue either but it doesn’t help. During the 701 mixed-trips we were way ahead of games and were in a waiting period of over an hour easily before a team even reached us to play in the loser bracket. During this time I began the draw your partner and the matches were going relatively quick. After each match I’d go back to the board to check and see if we were playing mixed trips and when a match finally came up an (H) was posted on the board and I asked what it was for and Shane said a person is playing “the womens” which turned out to be VAL so I waited more and played a few more DYP matches in between. I had a ton of free time and waited not only on other games in our bracket but for another person. And this isn’t directed toward VAL either its directed toward the BS that I received during one of my matches that was almost done (match three I’m frozen and April is down to 100 points game 3). To come over and have two people say (yell) ...“if you don’t get over to that match NOW! your going to forfeit” Get the F outta here I waited so much for others and to have myself and partner treated that way was rude and very disrespectful.

Earlier in the day I waited 25 - 30 minutes for a guy in singles, shouldn’t this apply to “everyone”? What happened there.. free pass? Roger called his name 3 times. I saw a number of free passes - why was I the target?! there.

Thought this was very poor all the way around and maybe should be addressed so that the NNY tourney can be ran better next year. I know its hard to run tournys been running and reffing the NAC pee-wee wrestling tourney ever since HS. Things can always be done to make things run smoother. Up until then the tournament was going smooth for me and from my vision. Not sure if other people had concerns throughout the day but I’d like to hear them lets make this a better tournament.

I don’t know if this was ever brought up before but I think someone may have brought this up on the old forum, I apologize if this was something already discussed. .. ... .

I spoke with a lot of people about the location of this tournament and almost everyone said they’d rather have it in Plattsburgh….and I know I’d much rather have my local community reap the rewards of tourism rather than somewhere else….I’m sure Valley has their reasons for doing it in Lake Placid…not really sure about them but regardless…

My vote goes to having the NNY Dart Tourney back in Plattsburgh which I haven’t been playing darts long enough to ever experience a home field advantage for us local league players here.
